You have some questions?
In addition to long-term beginners, I also support AP & IB students who need structured, exam-focused guidance.
Why AP & IB Students Struggle in French—and How to Fix It
What real students say:
“Vocabulary and grammar just don’t stick. I’ve spent hours trying to memorize, but once a day or two passes I’ve forgotten everything. Listening is worse — everything sounds the same.”
“Everyone struggles with something different — pronunciation, verb conjugations, or understanding fast-spoken French.”
“Grammar is super complicated compared with English... They speak too fast in a blurry way, and too many letters are not pronounced.”
Where to focus to succeed in AP/IB French
Many AP & IB students put in the effort but see little improvement. That’s because memorization alone doesn’t work.
I guide them to focus on the skills that truly build long-term fluency and exam success.
Rebuild Conjugations & tenses → understand their usage and master them by developing a sustainable learning strategy.
Apply grammar & vocabulary gradually → regular weekly practice so skills are naturally assimilated.
Develop your speaking & listening skills → through progressive, low-stress activities that build confidence and help you stay calm in oral exams.
Exam strategy → learn the keys to structure essays, cultural comparisons, and oral responses the way IB/AP examiners expect.
Case study: Olivia (IB junior)
Olivia failed an important written essay, and her teacher said she needed to rebuild her grammar.
We started from scratch with core grammar and conjugations, then applied them in weekly guided writing. Along with consistent pronunciation practice, she gradually turned rules into accurate writing and built real exam-ready confidence.
In her most recent test (January 2026), she earned the highest grade in her class.
Parent feedback:
“Chrystele has helped our daughter improve her pronunciation and listening skills in just a couple of weeks. She even showed her smart ways to remember conjugations. We highly recommend her.”

Do you work with complete beginners?
Yes. Most of my students start as complete or false beginners. I build a clear foundation from day one, focusing on pronunciation, structure, and confidence—so you know what you’re doing and why.
What makes this different from classes or apps?
Classes and apps usually stop at rules and memorization. I focus on what truly makes French stick and builds confidence: guided pronunciation plus consistent oral and written practice. With this approach, you don’t just learn the rules—you use them naturally in speaking and writing, gaining lasting confidence rather than forgetting everything after a test.
How often should I take lessons to make progress?
Most beginners make steady progress with two lessons per week, combined with simple guided practice. I help you choose a rhythm that’s realistic and sustainable.
How do online lessons work?
All lessons take place on Google Meet, and we use a shared Google Doc where I conduct the lesson. You’ll have ongoing access to this document to review, study, and complete exercises anytime after class. Once you book, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the meeting link, plus reminders before each lesson.
Do you adapt lessons to my level?
Yes. During our first meeting, I assess your level and we talk about your goals and challenges. From there, I build a personalized plan so lessons fit your needs and help you progress step by step.
How do I schedule lessons?
You can book directly through my online calendar and choose times that work best in your time zone. After the first lesson, I will be able to schedule them myself for the following weeks. This helps keep a consistent schedule over time.
How much does it cost?
You only book what you need, with secure online payment and no hidden fees. Private lessons are $50/hour for one student or $68/hour for two.
